In the UK and some other countries, it is time to tighten restrictions on the spread of the virus.

 Recognizing the danger of a possible third wave of the corona, the state government has already started taking steps to ensure that the necessary medicines and medical equipment are available, as well as adequate stocks in rural areas, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said today. He was speaking at a meeting of doctors and senior officials of the task force. Doctors from the task force emphasized the need for strict adherence to restrictions while emphasizing the need for a statewide CERO survey and large-scale vaccinations. He feared that if the crowds increased and health rules were not followed, we would face a third wave in two months after recovering from the second wave. Health Minister Rajesh Tope, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashish Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vikas Kharge, Secretary to the Chief Minister Abasaheb Jarhad, Principal Secretary to Finance Rajgopal Deora, Principal Secretary to Health Dr Pradip Vyas, Dr Ramaswamy, Dr Sanjay Oak, Dr Shashank Joshi, Dr Rahul Pandit, Dr Tatyarao Lahane were present.

 At the time of the first wave we had a lack of facilities, we were increasing it, the second wave also taught us a lot. The wave is receding and from the experience, we have to focus on the necessary medicines, health facilities, beds, oxygen availability, the Chief Minister said, adding that the country has been receiving 42 crore vaccines since August-September. Therefore, vaccination will start faster and Maharashtra will also benefit from it. Although vaccination is an important part of this fight, it is important to follow health rules, wear a mask, and keep a safe distance. 

During the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on possible future medicines, their procurement, provision of funds for them, RT PCR kits, masks, PPE kits, etc. The Chief Minister said that these would be available in coordination with all the concerned agencies.

 The second wave doubled the number of patients in a very short period of time compared to the first wave. With the new Delta Plus variant also at risk, the number of patients in the state could double back in the event of a third wave. In the first wave, there were 19 lakh patients, in the second wave, the number was more than 40 lakh. The number of active patients could reach 8 lakh and the number of infected children could be around 10 per cent, the health department said in a presentation.

The first wave on September 17, 2020, had the highest number of 3 lakh 1 thousand 752 patients. On April 22, 2021, the highest number of patients in the second wave was 6 lakh 99 thousand 858. The highest death toll was 517 on September 13, 2020. The second wave killed a maximum of 1,110 people on April 26, 2021. 

 Weekly positivity was highest at 23.53 per cent on September 9, 2020, while the second wave had a positivity rate of 24.96 per cent on April 8, 2021.  

 The task force also noted that in the UK and some other countries, it is time to tighten restrictions on the spread of the virus. 

तिसऱ्या लाटेत रुग्ण संख्या वाढू शकते. नियम न पाळणे आणि गर्दी वाढल्यास, तिसऱ्या लाटेला लवकर आमंत्रण.

 कोरोनाच्या संभाव्य तिसऱ्या लाटेचा धोका ओळखून राज्य शासनाने आधीच पाऊले उचलण्यास सुरुवात केली असून आवश्यक त्या औषधी, वैद्यकीय उपकरणे यांची उपलब्धता राहील, तसेच ग्रामीण भागातही याचा पुरेसा साठा राहील हे पाहण्याच्या सूचना मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे यांनी आज दिल्या. यासंदर्भात टास्क फोर्समधील डॉक्टर्स, वरिष्ठ अधिकारी यांच्या समवेतच्या बैठकीत ते बोलत होते. यावेळी टास्क फोर्सच्या डॉक्टर्सनी राज्यभर सिरो सर्व्हेक्षण करणे, मोठ्या प्रमाणावर लसीकरण पूर्ण करणे यावर भर देताना निर्बंधांचे पालन काटेकोरपणे होणे गरजेचे आहे असे सांगितले. गर्दी वाढली आणि आरोग्याचे नियम पाळले गेले नाहीत, तर दुसऱ्या लाटेतून सावरता सावरता आपण महिन्या दोन महिन्यात तिसऱ्या लाटेलाही सामोरे जाऊ अशी त्यांनी भीती व्यक्त केली. यावेळी आरोग्यमंत्री राजेश टोपे, मुख्य सचिव सीताराम कुंटे, मुख्यमंत्र्यांचे अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव आशिष कुमार सिंह, मुख्यमंत्र्यांचे प्रधान सचिव विकास खारगे, मुख्यमंत्र्यांचे सचिव आबासाहेब जऱ्हाड, प्रधान सचिव वित्त राजगोपाल देवरा, प्रधान सचिव आरोग्य डॉ प्रदिप व्यास, डॉ रामास्वामी, डॉ संजय ओक, डॉ.शशांक जोशी, डॉ राहुल पंडित, डॉ तात्याराव लहाने यांची उपस्थिती होती. 

 पहिल्या लाटेच्या वेळेस आपल्याकडे सुविधांची कमी होती, त्यात आपण वाढ करीत गेलो, दुसऱ्या लाटेने देखील आपल्याला बरेच काही शिकविले. ही लाट ओसरत असून त्यातील अनुभवातून आपल्याला आवश्यक ती औषधी, आरोग्य सुविधा, बेड्स, ऑक्सिजन उपलब्धता या गोष्टींकडे लक्ष केंद्रित करावे लागेल असे सांगून मुख्यमंत्री म्हणाले की, ऑगस्ट-सप्टेंबर पासून देशाला ४२ कोटी लसी मिळताहेत अशी माहिती मिळते आहे त्यामुळे लसीकरण वेगाने सुरु होऊन महाराष्ट्रालाही त्याचा फायदा होईल. लसीकरण हा या लढाईत महत्त्वाचा भाग असला तरी आरोग्य विषयक नियमांचे पालन करणे, मास्क घालणे, सुरक्षित अंतर ठेवणे हे अत्यावश्यक आहे.  या बैठकीत पुढच्या काळात लागणारी संभाव्य औषधे, त्यांची खरेदी, त्यासाठी लागणाऱ्या निधीची तरतूद, आरटीपीसीआर कीट, मास्क, पीपीई किट्स अशा बाबींवर विस्तृत चर्चा झाली, मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी सर्व सबंधित यंत्रणांनी समन्वयाने हे उपलब्ध राहील असेही सांगितले.

 तिसऱ्या लाटेत रुग्ण संख्या वाढू शकते. 

 पहिल्या लाटेच्या तुलनेत दुसऱ्या लाटेत अतिशय कमी कालावधीत रुग्ण संख्या दुप्पट झाली. नव्या डेल्टा प्लस व्हेरीयंटचाही धोका असल्याने तिसरी लाट आल्यास राज्यात रुग्ण संख्या परत दुपट्टीने वाढू शकते. पहिल्या लाटेत १९ लाख रुग्ण होते, दुसऱ्या लाटेत ही संख्या ४० लाखापेक्षा जास्त झाली होती. सक्रीय रुग्णांची संख्याही ८ लाख होऊ शकते तसेच १० टक्यांच्या आसपास संसर्गग्रस्त मुलांची संख्या असू शकते असे आरोग्य विभागाने सादरीकरणात सांगितले. 

१७ सप्टेंबर २०२० रोजी पहिल्या लाटेत सर्वाधिक म्हणजे ३ लाख १ हजार ७५२ रुग्ण होते. तर २२ एप्रिल २०२१ मध्ये दुसऱ्या लाटेत सर्वोच्च रुग्ण संख्या ६ लाख ९९ हजार ८५८ होती. १३ सप्टेंबर २०२० रोजी सर्वांधिक ५१७ मृत्यू झाले होते. दुसऱ्या लाटेत २६ एप्रिल २०२१ रोजी सर्वाधिक १११० मृत्यू झाले.

 साप्ताहिक पॉझिटीव्हिटी ९ सप्टेंबर २०२० रोजी सर्वाधिक म्हणजे २३.५३ टक्के होती तर दुसऱ्या लाटेत ८ एप्रिल २०२१ रोजी २४.९६ टक्के पॉझिटीव्हिटी दर होता.
